Didn’t We Almost Have It All?

A week of almost wins. Syntech Biofuel, The Three Lions, and Royal Green Dreams.
Syntech Biofuel team at the CN Awards night. Nominated for the Carbon Champion Award. July 11, 2024

    Happy Friday Friends.

Well, what a week it’s been! The world has had its eyes on England, not just for the Euros but for a multitude of events that have stirred our spirits, tested our resolve, and given us a glimmer of hope for the future. From the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel to the hallowed halls of the House of Commons, let’s dive into the week that was with a touch of light-heartedness and a dose of optimism.

Syntech Biofuel: The Silver Lining in Second Place

First up, the Carbon Reduction Champion award at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Now, I know what you’re thinking—“We didn’t win?!” But hold your horses, because second place is nothing to scoff at! Syntech Biofuel’s groundbreaking work has been nothing short of revolutionary, and being a runner-up in such a competitive field is a testament to our innovation and dedication.

We were absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted alongside some of the biggest construction and infrastructure companies in the UK today, to be sat in the same room as them in Park Lane was an achievement in itself. So we already felt pretty good, we scrubbed up well for the night and oh what a marvellous hoot we had.

Think of it this way: even though we didn’t snag the top prize, we were still on the podium. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned from watching countless sports, it’s that being a medallist is a huge achievement. It’s a reminder that our efforts are recognised and valued, and it’s a stepping stone towards future triumphs. So, let’s take a moment to pat ourselves on the back and look forward to what’s next. After all, great things are rarely accomplished without a few near misses along the way.

England’s Euros Journey: It’s Not Coming Home, But What a Ride!

Ah, the Euros. The phrase “It’s coming home” was on everyone’s lips, and while the dream didn’t materialise this time, let’s not overlook the journey. England’s team played with heart, grit, and determination. They gave us moments of pure joy and some nail-biting tension—classic football drama at its best.

Ok, so the group stages were pretty frustrating and the media went in like they always do, with negativity, but we certainly showed residence and cracked on with the job in hand, other big name teams flew home while we stayed.

Coming second in a major tournament is an incredible feat. It’s easy to focus on the final result and feel the sting of a missed opportunity, but let’s remember the pride and unity the team brought to the nation. They fought hard, played fair, and showed the world that English football is a force to be reckoned with. Sometimes, the journey is just as important as the destination, and this journey has laid a solid foundation for future success. So, let’s keep the spirit alive, cheer for our team, and remember that every game is a step closer to bringing it home one day.

The King’s Green Speech: A Royal Vision for a Sustainable Future

And now, onto the regal realms of the House of Commons, where the King delivered an optimistic speech brimming with green initiatives and sustainable dreams. His Majesty’s vision for a greener future is not just inspiring but necessary. In a world grappling with climate change, it’s heartening to see leadership committed to making a positive impact.

The King’s plans include investing in renewable energy, promoting sustainable agriculture, and enhancing green infrastructure. These initiatives are poised to create jobs, foster innovation, and most importantly, protect our planet for future generations. It’s a royal call to action that resonates with the very ethos of Syntech Biofuel and our commitment to carbon reduction.

As we navigate these challenging times, the King’s speech serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that collective effort and visionary leadership can steer us towards a sustainable future. It’s a reminder that even if we don’t always clinch the top spot, our efforts contribute to a larger, noble cause.

In Conclusion: Life is always about celebrating the journey

So, what a week indeed! We might not have walked away with the Carbon Reduction Champion award or the Euros trophy, but we’ve achieved so much more. We’ve shown resilience, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to our goals. Whether on the football pitch or in the realm of sustainable energy, coming second doesn’t mean failure—it means we’re in the race, and we’re making a difference.

This week’s cheesy songlink is an unapologetic, soaring, diva delivered, anthem. Give it a go and you’ll be waving your arms in the air by the end.

Let’s celebrate our near wins, learn from our experiences, and keep pushing forward. After all, it’s not just about the victories but the journey and the progress we make along the way.

And well done to all the team at Syntech, we march onwards!

Thanks for reading, have a beautiful weekend.

    Mike.
